The value of money decreases with each passing year. This is due to inflation. When dealing with the future value of money, people require two things.

  • Either they are looking for the amount that will be equal in value to the present value, in the future. For example what amount will be equal in value of today’s 1 Lakh after 10 years at 4% inflation. This we can call Future Amount. You can calculate this by using the first calculator.
  • Or they are looking for the actual value of the present amount in the future. For example what will be the value of 1 Lakh after 10 years at 4% inflation. This we can call Future Value. You can calculate this by using the second calculator.
